Sorry for the unannounced absence last week, I was in Roanoke visiting family. I had planned to write a post upon returning home Monday night, but I over estimated my resiliency. Nevertheless, I have a lovely Roanoke shop to share with you this week!
Every time I travel I am sure to check Ravelry for any LYS that may be in my path. This time when I checked, I was pleased to see that one of the instagram feeds I follow was only a few minutes from my mom's place
As soon as we pulled up to Wool Workshop, the charm was calling me in. What a beautiful show window! As I entered I was not disappointed; there were so many treasures to be found! I was lucky enough to be there while Gina [the lovely owner] was hosting an Appalachian Leicester Longwools trunk show. I purchased a lush skein of natural grey wool spun from a sheep named Starkey [who lives on a nearby farm :)]. Leicester Longwool is a rare breed, so this trunk show is helping preserve the the breed and educate the public-two thumbs up!
If you find yourself in or near Roanoke, VA, this cute shop is definitely worth a visit!
