I'm as so excited to cast on for Sue Jackson's Traveller's Hat! I don't knit hats often, because I don't wear hats often, because...I don't know, but I can't wait for this hat. I'm going to be using some of my stash for this project: some left over antique lace and black walnut Mad Tosh DK [the neutral and green], some splendour beetle Cephalopod Bugga [the variegated], and possibly some button Sublime DK [the navy], if I need the yardage.
I plan on doing a colorblock pattern, more than a stripe repeat, but I will have to see how the yardage plays out. I'll be rinsing out these small skeins this week [so that they don't bleed later during blocking-when doing any sort of color work this is a necessary step, especially when using hand-dyed yarns. I learned this the hard way], and casting on next weekend. I look forward to seeing what your plans are for this project. Be sure to share your photos using #dapperewetravellers!
